In April 2022, in order to consolidate and systematize the research and development work (R&D) of subsoil users belonging to the JSC “Samruk-Kazyna”, as part of the fulfillment by subsoil users of annual obligations in the field of science and in accordance with the instruction of the Head of State dated January 5, 2022, “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC has established the Center for Scientific and Technological Initiatives.
In December 2022, the Center for Scientific and Technological Initiatives was re-registered at the Astana International Financial Center by transforming as non-profit Foundation “Center for Scientific and Technological Initiatives “Samgau”.
Our MISSION is to create an effective and transparent ecosystem of scientific, technical and innovative activities for the formation of a knowledge-based economy that contributes to improving the well-being of the population. In pursuance of its mission, the CSTI “Samgau” ensures the sustainable development of the real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan by supporting R&D and innovations and for this purpose sets the following goals:
Build an effective and transparent system for the selection and implementation of research and innovation initiativesThe system of selection and implementation of research and innovation initiatives should be a transparent and understandable process from the moment of application to the completion of the project. The effectiveness of the selection should be ensured through a detailed examination of projects, while the transparency of the process should be ensured by access to information on the status of the project at all stages of selection and implementation.
To create practical mechanisms for interaction between the scientific and innovative community and industryIncreasing the competitiveness of the domestic industry is directly related to the need to introduce innovative, science-intensive technologies at enterprises. The scientific and intellectual potential of research organizations in Kazakhstan should be concentrated to solve the technological problems of domestic enterprises in order to optimize production processes, increase productivity and technological equipment.
Become an integrated part of the National Innovation and Research SystemTo increase the efficiency and coherence of the work of all elements of the national innovation and research system, it is necessary to build interaction with state bodies, development institutions, research organizations and universities, industry and financial institutions; to ensure synergy with all existing tools to support scientific and innovative activities.
